On-prem & hybrid Exchange rescue. After Office 365 realm (P3.5) and before Region (P4), the still-unmatched residue is probed for an Exchange Web Services endpoint — first via Autodiscover V2, then by autobuilding candidate EWS URLs from the domain and confirming one answers (401 auth-challenge, WSDL, or an OWA logon redirect). No credentials are ever sent. A hit lands the lead in other-exchange. The same autodiscover drives EWS mailbox import.

When Autodiscover V2 doesn't answer, EWS URLs are autobuilt as https://<subdomain>.domain/EWS/Exchange.asmx and probed in order. The pipeline also learns new subdomains automatically whenever a manual EWS import connects — so a server at a novel host gets discovered for the rest of the batch.
